Made from the recycled shells of Hokkaido's famous scallops, Scallop Shell Plaster is an environmentally friendly wall plaster. It goes on in just two easy coats (base coat and finishing coat), and can be textured into many different patterns.
Scallop shells are composed of natural calcium carbonate. When this calicum carbonate is purified it makes an interior wall plaster which helps to control room, humidity, resisit mold, is fire resisitant and looks beautiful in your home. （Interior plaster 5mm thick /2 coats） |

2．Deodorizing, moisture controlling, breathable interior plaster.
The scallop shells are purified at high temperature so have no odor. In fact deodorizing properties in the calicum carbonate actually help to eliminate room odors. As well, the porous nature of the plaster allows it to take in and slowly release moisture, allowing it to help control an even moisture balance within the room. This helps to prevent the buildup of moisture which leads to mildew, and together with it's anti-bacterial properties makes it very resistant to mildew and mold. Scallop Shell Plaster makes for a comfortable, healthy and beautiful living environment.

3．Multiple colors and textures
The fine, soft nature of Scallop Shell Plaster allows for a variety of textures. In addition to the natural white color there are 5 colored varieties available. In addition, the plaster can be mixed with other materials such as clay, bits of straw, colored glass etc. Whether it's western style, traditional Japanese style, or a fusion of both, Scallop Shell Plaster gives you the exact finish you're looking for.

The natural crystalization of the calcium in scallop shells gives the plaster exceptional strength, while at the same time being easy to apply by trowel, and it is more resistant to shrinkage than traditional plasters. Scallops are farmed for food in Hokkaido and their shells discarded as waste. Over 40 thousand tons of this valuable material are discarded every year. Scallop Shell Plaster makes use of these discarded shells, recycling them into a product that is both healthy, beautiful, and is itself environmentally friendly.
